HDRA Racing Series
07-04-2009, 11:50 AM
I would like to personal invite each and every Mafia member to bring there cars out and race with the HDRA during our Byron events.
I ask of you what can the HDRA do to make this a reality?
Give us your suggestions and comments on what we can do and directions we can take the series to gain the interest of the mafia to our events.

You can check out out program at http://www.hdraracingseries.com
our message board is located at http://racersforum.pro-forums.com/index.php
please join us and give us your comments, suggestions and critisism

Thank you

What do you have set up at Byron? What's in it for us?

well thats kinda what im looking for, Information. What type of payouts, entry fees and such would it take to peak interest in racers coming out to our events. were running a six race series in byron for 2009, 2010 we plan on adding in cordova. This year is basically a year to find out what racers want out of a local series, and what would it take us to do to get them to come out. We have no membership fees, come pay gate fee and race, come to one or all races, and race in any other organization you want.
We want to be basic and simple and just have a good time and a good show for spectators.

I am currently in the process of puting together a charity event to take place on Sept 20th at Byron. The details are still being ironed out, but I think it would be a great addition to the days events if MSSM was in the house. Chicago wise guys are on Byrons schedule to be there that day as well as HDRA, so there should be a good draw of spectators. My goal is to bring together as many of the surrounding organizations to race with HDRA during this event to put on one great show for a good cause. I will release more info on the charity as soon as the details are finalized but it is a local charity that will have impact on our community. I am just looking for input on what it would take for racers to come out for the charity event, and what they would want to see to race HDRAs 2010 schedule.

So you really don't have any set deals at this time. This is the wrong way to go about this. You should talk to the "Don", purple66bu, about the details and then we'd decide as a group.

I already have been, and I have a set date with byron.
I am working on securing sponsors and other organizations to attend to put on a good show for a good cause.
I have spoken to dennis and he knows whats up, I will keep him informed as more information is available for you guys.
I would like info from racers though, and he cannot speak for all racers. I realize to book the Mafia for an event is a joint decision and the details surrounding a standard booking. I would like to know, other then racing with MSSM, do you guys race elswhere? What inticed you to race in these events, and what would it take for some of you guys to come out and give Paul some competition in our 8.5 class

I think if we were a FEATURE SHOW to draw people in that would help both our organazations grow..this way there would be a draw for now to give peeps something to go and see..not saying we can stand alone but we are getting a fan base growing.

That is sorta what Im thinking for this event in Sept.
We dont have anyone that runs out 8.5 class except Mundy. If it stays that way we would drop the class for that race, Add MSSM as the feature of the event, if everyone would like to come out, and we can come up with an agreement we all like.
It would work great to help grow both of our organizations as I am working on a huge media campain for all of northern IL I want to put into action, in addition to that the Chicago Wise guys will be at Byron that day as well.

My goal is to try to gain enough sponsorship for this event to have some great payouts in line with True Street and IMSM so we can attrack a good number of racers and put on a great show and raise some good money for the charity.
I have no problems with other organizations coming out in full force, promoting their organizations or selling their merch. Nor do I have a problem with cross promoting their series on our site. My vision is to get to a point where HDRA has something good to offer racers of other organizations and we can work in conjunction with them to increase car counts at all races in all series at all tracks for the good of the sport. I dont see why series should compete against each other. To me the ultimate goal is creating a place for racers to race and keeping the tracks in business so we have somewhere to race.

Were just trying to draw as much attention to it as possible. I think the visibility of MSSM would be a tremendous shot in the arm for this event.

You're trying to draw attention to your deal as we are for ours. Unfortunately our timing is terrible. I can't speak for everyone in the group but I know others that are like me. BROKE. I want to race more often but the house payment comes first. Then food, then racin.

NEVER!!!!!Just remember what Keith Black said on his dieing bed"There is no replacement for displacement".We have a perfect example of this in our group.Look no further then our own Steve Scott, who has proven what can be done with 800 inches.

That is an unsubstantiated rumor started by unscrupulous people! lol It's really a 283 with a few bolt ons. I just won't say which bolt ons.;)

only one prob with that, na motors dont live real long on juice.Ishould know,I have a three peice con rod to show you:( What kind of con rod was it?? You can make 1000+ hp with 750hp rods for a short time only. Face it, they all break eventually. But them Hemi rods are nice and fat. I think we could fix up our friend with the big fat rods.
