Are we going to have our own announcer?

For years I've sat in the stands at Da Grove and heard a bunch of jibberish from the announcers. I'm sure the current guys they have are way more knowledgeable than me, but ,IMO they need a good color guy who can give the drivers info and sponsor info, engine brand and builder for each pair of cars before they start the burn outs.

What's the point of having sponsors if no one ever hears about them? I've brought a lot of newbies to the track over the years, and if it wasn't for me, they'd have no clue what was going on and what the different cars or classes where on the track. Just a thought.

I got the iron in the fire.We copy what your saying.I've been in contact with the Columbia School of broadcasting's director to see if they could help us out.It's almost gonna have to be scripted once the cars are paired up.We all totally agree with you.Everyone's name should be pronounced correctly.Cars, motors and power adders should be announced as well as sponsors.Every car should be as important as the one it's paired up against. No one should be slighted or skipped over everyone deserves the same respect.

I hear ya on that note. But sometimes there's not enough time to make the announcements, cause the noise from the cars doing the burnouts drowns out the speakers, and their objective is to run the cars off as fast as they can. That don't leave to much time for announcing who they are and what they have for power.

I would love to have a chance at the microphone, but I'd have a hard time shooting video's and announcing all at the same time. LMAO

It probably wouldn't hurt if some of that info was posted here. I'm not trying to make more work for the moderators. If the racers posted some info with the car pics. We're racing on a cap it's not we'd be givin away any secrets.
I'd do it but having me try to post pics is like asking me to put a rocket on the moon. I'm old school. I'm lucky if I don't get the computer to crash just turning it on.

Frank, Get your butt in the booth!!You could sell a shoe salesman new shoes!It's important to shoot the video and I know you like to do it.But dude if your willing to give it a try!You know the cars and the racing.Can you sing?LOL.It's true there isn't much time between cars but it can be done.We should talk to Uncle Dave about video.We really need two guys for that one for each lane.We need to get some guy's to commit for these positions.I've got a third camera and a tripod we can have in a fixed position down the track looking at the starting line.We need to have a meeting to get our ducks in a row.The first race will be here before we know it.:) fo shizzle

If you think it would take too long for each pair of cars, maybe we could do it with just sponsors and drivers first round then more info, 2nd round, then a little more in the semi's, ect.
